BIOGRAPHY

Kevin Ryan was born on June 20th in Dublin, Ireland. Though his family is eighth-generation stonecutters and Kevin completed his apprenticeship as a young man, his own interests leaned more towards the arts; active in sports, he also harbored a love of Shakespeare. As a child Kevin appeared in school plays and ultimately was encouraged to perform material he had written. Taking a chance as a teenager, with two hours notice, he auditioned and was accepted onto a live dance show—Kevin's first television appearance. In 2007, Kevin moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting.

In L.A., Kevin continued honing his craft and trained in acting and voice. Inspired and excited to be working as an actor, he gained experience in a variety of character roles in short films, and then was thankful to be cast in small roles in larger television productions. Leading roles in independent features followed—several of which will be released theatrically this year—as well as work in professional theater. With the conscious goal of broadening his technique, Kevin worked a variety of roles in genres ranging from coming-of-age comedy to mystery thriller to art house indie to classical theater, his latest being Chekhov's "Three Sisters."

During the past few years, Kevin has also co-written, produced and starred in two award-winning short films. As a filmmaker, Kevin is currently developing films in the US and Ireland. As an actor, upcoming roles include "Seven Songs for Amy" and "Jason and the Necronauts" (September, 2011), along with a light-hearted Irish drama titled "Paddy's in the Boot."

Kevin knows how fortunate he is to be working as an actor and filmmaker. He appreciates each moment of the journey and looks forward to working just as hard on this next level of his career as he has in the past.
